Creamy feta cheese is the perfect topper for steak tacos! Easy to make with classic taco seasoning and pan-seared steak. Tender, juicy and tangy!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb flank steak
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 8 corn tortillas, warmed
- ½ cup Athenos Crumbled Traditional Feta Cheese
- ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Pickled red onions
- Lime wedges
Method
- Bring flank steak to room temperature and rub both sides evenly with taco seasoning.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet or grill pan on medium-high heat with vegetable oil evenly distributed.
- Sear steak on each side for 4-5 minutes or until an internal temperature reaches 130-140°F depending on your preference. Remove the steak from the pan and wrap with foil for five minutes to rest.
- Warm tortillas and slice steak into even strips against the steaks grain. Top tacos with feta cheese, cilantro, pickled onions, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
Note: to quickly pickle red onions, add ½ red onion thinly sliced to an airtight container with ½ cup apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp sugar, and a pinch of kosher salt. Cover the container tightly and shake together until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
